
St. Cloud State Athletics Mourns the Loss of Hall of Famer Jerry Henkemeyer

ST. CLOUD, Minn. – St. Cloud State Athletics is mourning the loss of Hall of Fame inductee Jerry Henkemeyer, who passed away on December 7 surrounded by his family. Henkemeyer played baseball for the Huskies from 1967-70 and was inducted into the SCSU Athletics Hall of Fame in 2004.
Henkemeyer played baseball for the Huskies from 1967-70, helping the black and red win three NIC championships and finish third in the 1969 NAIA National Tournament. In 1970, he hit .390 and became the oldest letterwinner in program history at 32. He was also a member of the 1967 SCSU football team that won the NIC championship.
Henkemeyer chaired the university's annual Community Foundation Campaign in 1989 and continued to support SCSU Athletics for many years.
