SCSU to wrestle MSU Moorhead
St. Cloud, Minn. – No. 9 St. Cloud State Wrestling (5-1, 2-0 NSIC) close out 2025 with a home dual against MSU Moorhead on Thursday, December 18. Thursday's dual is set for 7:00 p.m.

St. Cloud State enters this week ranked ninth in the latest National Wrestling Coaching Association (NWCA). SCSU started the year ranked eighth and currently hold three ranked wrestlers.

157 Pounds- No. 2 Joel Jesuroga (5-0, 2-0 vs NSIC, 1-0 vs ranked), four bonus point wins (one major decision, three tech falls)
174 Pounds- No. 4 Bryce Dagel (2-2, 0-0 vs NSIC, 0-2 vs ranked), two bonus point wins (one tech fall, one fall)
184 Pounds- No. 3 Cole Glazier (6-0, 2-0 vs NSIC, 0-0 vs ranked), three bonus point wins (one major decision, two falls)

No. 9 Huskies Fall 25-7 in Hard Fought Dual to No. 1 Lopers- December 12, 2025
With the dual starting at 125, Ben Aranda came up with a first period takedown to lead 3-1 after an escape by Caleb Coyle. Coyle took bottom to start period two and responded with an escape and takedown. Aranda tacked on a pair of escape points to tie up the match at 5-5 as the wrestlers headed into overtime. Coyle scored a takedown at the 1:22 mark of the period to come away with an 8-5 victory.
At 133, Dominic Ducato also headed into overtime as he faced National Runner-Up and third ranked Zach Ourada. Both wrestlers scored an escape which led to extra time. In the overtime period, the two scrapped and produced multiple chain wrestling moments, but it was Ourada coming out victorious with a takedown with 16 seconds remaining in overtime.
The Lopers extended their lead over the next two matches as No. 4 Joseph Airola beat Jayce Luna 12-6 and Brady Collins tallied a major decision against Jeroen Smith at 149.
With SCSU trailing 13-0, No. 2 Joel Jesuroga put the first points on the board as three takedowns and riding time propelled him to an 11-2 major decision against No. 9 Cael Robb.
UNK added another overtime victory as No. 7 Trenton Munoz beat Derek Johnson 4-1 to extended the lead to 16-4.
In the second match between two ranked wrestlers, No. 9 Otgonbayar Batsuuri beat No. 4 Bryce Dagel off of two takedowns and two stall penalties.
No. 3 Cole Glazier gave the Huskies their final victory of the match as he defeated Kaden Hart 7-2.
Moving to 197, Tyson Meyer faced off against No. 1 Jackson Kinsella. This was the fourth match that went into overtime as it would be tied 1-1 with each wrestler producing an escape. This bout however went into a tiebreaker with neither scoring a point in overtime. Meyer pushed for stall calls on Kinsella most of the match and while he got one, he was unable to get another for what would've been a crucial point. In the tiebreaker, Kinsella started on bottom and escaped in 13 seconds. Meyer was unable to escape faster than that as he would be defeated 2-1 to the top ranked wrestler at 197. The Lopers would take the last match at 285 as they ultimately came away with a 25-7 win.

The dual started at 125 where No. 6 ranked Conor Knopick put the Huskies on the board with 17-1 tech fall.
At 133, No. 6 ranked Sam Spencer shutout Thomas Carrillo with an 11-0 major decision.
No. 8 ranked Alyeus Craig made his dual debut and came away with an 8-3 decision to give St. Cloud State a 12-0.
No. 2 ranked Colby Njos kicked off kicked three consecutive tech falls for the Huskies as he beat Cody Wienen 20-5 at 149.
Joel Jesuroga and Nick Novak followed Njos with tech falls of their own to put the Huskies up 27-0.
Bryce Dagel came away with a 10-3 decision in the 174 bout and was followed by an 11-2 major decision by Tyson Meyer at 184.
Now leading 34-0, Dominic Murphy gave the Huskies their fifth tech fall of the dual with a 21-6 victory. Jadon Mims closed out the dual with a pin at the 3:33 mark to give St. Cloud State the 45-0 win.

Scouting MSU Moorhead
The Minnesota State University Moorhead Dragons come into this dual holding a 0-1 record with the loss coming to No. 12 Augustana. The Dragons have competed in four other opens prior to their dual. MSUM is coming off a 2024-25 season where they went 8-6 overall and 3-6 in the NSIC to finish seventh. The Dragons qualified two wrestlers to the NCAA tournament after Ryan Henningson and Pedro Velazquez each placed second at Super Region V. Henningson went 2-2 at the NCAA Tournament while Velazquez went 0-2. Coming into this season, the Dragons were projected to finish seventh in the NSIC.
The Dragons do not hold any ranked wrestlers but return six of their wrestlers who competed in Super Regio V including Velazquez. Velazquez is currently 6-2 at 141 pounds.
Head Coach Kris Nelson enters his 17th season with MSU Moorhead in 2025-26. During his tenure, Nelson has coached one NCAA Finalist, six All-Americans, and 22 NCAA qualifiers.
