Huskies take on Jamestown and Minot State
St. Cloud, Minn. – No. 9 St. Cloud State Wrestling (3-0) begin conference duals this weekend as they travel to Jamestown on Friday, December 5 and then to Minot State on Saturday, December 6. Friday's dual is set for 7:00p.m. while Saturday's dual will begin at 12:00p.m.

NWCA Poll
St. Cloud State enters this weekend ranked ninth in the latest National Wrestling Coaching Association (NWCA). SCSU started the year ranked eighth and currently hold three ranked wrestlers.
The individuals who are ranked for the Huskies are as follows:
157 Pounds- No. 2 Joel Jesuroga (2-0, 0-0 vs NSIC, 0-0 vs ranked), one bonus point win
174 Pounds- No. 4 Bryce Dagel (2-1, 0-0 vs NSIC, 0-1 vs ranked), two bonus point wins
184 Pounds- No. 3 Cole Glazier (3-0, 0-0 vs NSIC, 0-0 vs ranked), one bonus point win

St. Cloud State began their dual season two weeks ago as they wrestled against No. 10 Glenville State, No. 21 Grand Valley State, and RV Findlay in the Laker Duals.
No. 9 Huskies Cruise to 3-0 Day at Grand Valley State Duals- November 21, 2025
St. Cloud State opened up their day against the tenth ranked Glenville State Pioneers. Beginning at 125, Ben Aranda got the party started early with a pin in two minutes and 11 seconds as the Huskies jumped out to a 3-0 lead.
Dominic Ducato kept it rolling in a tough matchup against No. 13 Hunter Ross. No scoring occurred in the first period, but Ross took a 4-0 lead after coming away with an escape and takedown as he started the second period down. Ducato scrapped away and came up with a key two-point reversal as he only trailed 4-2 headed into the final frame. Starting the period on bottom, Ducato scored an escape to bring him within a point. With 38 seconds remaining, the redshirt sophomore came up clutch with a takedown and held his positioning on top to come away with the 6-4 upset victory.
The Pioneers would respond as they captured a fall and decision in the next two bouts to tie up the dual at 9-9. Moving to 157, No. 2 Joel Jesuroga produced tough rides throughout his match as a riding time point propelled him to a 2-1 win.
With a 12-9 lead, Derek Johnson served as the aggressor in his dual at 165 as he forced three stall calls to go with a pair of takedowns in his 10-2 win.
No. 4 Bryce Dagel captured a clean 17-2 tech fall to put the Huskies up 21-9.
No. 3 Cole Glazier and Tyson Meyer took care of business at 184 and 197 with a 9-2 decision by Glazier and a 16-1 first period tech fall by Meyer as the Huskies led 29-9.
In the final match of the dual, the ninth ranked Colby Whitehill sealed a 5-3 win over Jadon Mims with a late takedown to give the Pioneers their third win of the dual. SCSU ultimately captured a 29-12 win for their first victory of the season as well as first victory on the day.

Moving into their second match of the day, St. Cloud State took on No. 21 Grand Valley State. For the second straight dual, it was Ben Aranda producing the early fireworks with an 18-3 tech fall to put the Huskies up 5-0.
As he did in the previous dual, Dominic Ducato followed with a win as he took down Jak Keller, who opened the year ranked No. 12 at 133, with a 5-1 decision.
Jayce Luna came away with his first win of the day as he beat Collin Twigg 5-3 in a scrappy match.
At 149, Jeroen Smith battled into overtime against Eran Marx, but a stall call against Smith resulted in a 7-6 victory for Marx.
No. 2 Joel Jesuroga came out with his second win of the day as his offense propped him to a 19-4 tech fall to put the Huskies up 16-3.
Gabriel Smith followed up with a fall as SCSU took a commanding 22-3 lead.
The Lakers did come away with victories in three of the final four bouts as No. 5 Josh Kenny came out with a 7-0 win against No. 4 Bryce Dagel in a rematch of their NCAA Tournament bout from a season ago.
No. 3 Cole Glazier stood firm in his 4-2 win against Bradley Mayse with the help of riding time and stout defense.
Tyson Meyer battled against No. 14 Bryaden Mirjavadi in what was a tightly contested match, but a late takedown by Mirjavadi secured the 8-6 win. GVSU won the final bout of the dual as No. 4 Carter Blough beat Donnie Hidden 8-0. St. Cloud State stayed perfect on the day with a 25-13 win against Grand Valley State.

In their final match of the day, the Huskies made quick work of the Findlay Oilers with a 39-7 victory sparked by seven bonus point victories. Ben Aranda faced off against No. 10 Billy Smith in a very tight match. Each wrestlers produced an escape point headed as the match was tied 1-1 in the third period. Smith came away with a takedown with nine seconds left in the match to take the lead. Aranda escaped with two seconds left and nearly scored a takedown for the victory, but time would expire as he was defeated 4-2.
Dominic Ducato stayed undefeated on the day as a takedown in overtime led to a 4-1 victory against No. 15 Nate Knowlton for his second ranked win of the day.
From that point on, the Huskies took command of the match as Jayce Luna produced an efficient first period tech fall. Findlay forfeited at 149 as well as 165 for a free 12 points for SCSU.
At 157, Patrick Kubisa came away with a 13-2 major decision which put SCSU up 24-3.
No. 4 Bryce Dagel responded to his loss last match with a fall to add on another six points.

Following the Grand Valley State Duals, Dominic Ducato was named NSIC Wrestler of the Week. Ducato went 3-0 on the day with a pair of ranked wins to take the honors.
Series History
Friday's dual against Jamestown will be the first all-time meeting between the two teams.
Saturday's dual against Minot State will be the 15th time the programs have wrestled in a dual. The Huskies are 13-1 all-time against Minot State and have won 11 consecutive duals including last year's matchup.
No. 1 Huskies Repeat as NSIC Champions Following 48-0 Rout over RV Minot State- February 15, 2025
In what was a blazing fast start to the dual, St. Cloud State jumped out to a 12-0 lead following pins by Conor Knopick and No. 8 Sam Spencer. Knopick came away with the fall in 37 seconds while Spencer was on the merge of a tech fall, but ultimately worked his way to a pin late in his match.
The fireworks continued for the Huskies as No. 13 Alyeus Craig came away with a 12-1 major decision and was followed by back-to-back pins by No. 13 Colby Njos and No. 1 Joel Jesuroga. St. Cloud State held a 28-0 lead at the break following Jesuorga's pin which came in 1:33.
Out of the break, No. 3 Nick Novak kept it rolling as he came away with a 15-0 tech fall.
At 174, Ethan Hendrickson used a first period takedown to propel to a 5-2 decision in his conference opener.
No. 9 Bryce FitzPatrick added another six points to the scoreboard with a pin in 48 seconds as SCSU led 42-0.
No. 2 Dominic Murphy tacked on three more points with a 10-3 decision to stay undefeated.
At 285, No.5 La'Ron Parks matched up against No. 9 Jake Swirple. No scoring occurred in the first period, but Parks took a 1-0 lead in the second period with an escape point. Neither wrestler could find their offense as Swirple tied the match at 1-1 in the third period following an escape. With 1:00 remaining in the match, Parks picked up what was the winning point as Swirple was called for his second stall. Parks continued to shutout Swirple's offense as he completed the sweep with a 2-1 win. In what was their final home dual of the season, the Huskies put on a show with a 48-0 win over RV Minot State.
Scouting Jamestown
The University of Jamestown Jimmies will be making their dual debut against the Huskies on Friday. Jamestown is 0-0 and have competed in the Jimmie Open, DWU Open, and the Grand View Open. The Jimmies went 1-6 in duals a season ago. This is the first year that Jamestown is competing in the NSIC. They were projected to finish last in the NSIC Preseason Coaches Poll.
18 of the 24 wrestlers on the Jimmies are true freshmen.
Head Coach Gresh Jones enters his second season with Jamestown in the 2025-26 season.
Scouting Minot State
The Minot State Beavers come into this dual holding a 3-0 record with wins against University of Saskatchewan, Bismark State College, and Northland Community College. The Beavers are coming off a 7-9 season a year ago as they placed eighth in the NSIC. Minot State qualified one wrestler to the NCAA Tournament in Jake Swirple who went on to place sixth and earn All-American honors at 285.
The offseason saw the Beavers lose six of their 10 super region participants from a season ago, including Swirple. The four returners for the Beavers include Dylan McDonald (125), Ethan Wonser (149), Ryan Hrcka (157), and Gavin Turk (174).
Head Coach Evan Forde enters his 11th season with Minot State in the 2025-26 season. Forde has tallied a 41-101 record in his tenure.
Minot State will wrestle No. 14 UMary on Friday before taking on the Huskies on Saturday.
