
St. Cloud State Baseball Rallies Late in 16-6 Win over Truman State

Huskies score 13 runs in the last three innings to earn victory in series finale
SCSU fell behind after giving up two runs in the bottom of the first inning, but tied the score back after runs in the second and third. Senior Ethan Navratil's (Albany, Minn.) RBI single in the third drove in redshirt junior Brayden Jacobson (West Fargo, N.D.) tied the score at 2-2. Truman State then scored two more runs in the bottom of the third inning and kept the lead until the Huskies rally began in the seventh inning.
Down 5-3 heading into the seventh inning, SCSU tied the game with back-to-back RBIs in hit-by-pitches and then took the lead when sophomore Wilmis Castro (San Juan, Puerto Rico) reached on an error. The Huskies then extended their lead to 9-5 after junior Taehyung Kim (Marana, Ariz.) singled in two runs.
In the eighth inning, SCSU continued its rally with three more runs on a single from Castro, a double from redshirt sophomore Hayden Konkol (Denmark, Wis.) and a groundout from redshirt junior Eric Bello (Manati, Puerto Rico). Then finally in the ninth inning, SCSU added on four more runs with a single from Navratil, a two-RBI double from redshirt junior Wilson Zuck (Appleton, Wis.) and a sacrifice fly from Bello.
On the mound, freshman Drayton Lou (Janesville, Wis.) came on in the fifth inning and pitched four innings while allowing two runs on three hits and two walks with five strikeouts to earn the win.

- Castro had his fifth multi-hit game of the season.

- Lou recorded his first career win on the mound after coming on in relief and striking out a season-high five hitters.
SCSU will next host Southwest Minnesota State for a four-game series at US Bank Stadium in Minneapolis on March 15-16. The two teams will play two sets of doubleheaders starting at 5:00 p.m. CT.
