Griechen transfers from West Texas A&M
St. Cloud, Minn.- St. Cloud State Men's Basketball Head Coach Quincy Henderson announced the addition of Bob Griechen to the program Monday.
A 6'6" guard from Geraldton, Australia, Griechen spent his freshman season at West Texas A&M where he played in all 31 games and made 19 starts. He averaged 5.5 points and 3.8 rebounds while shooting 42.1% from the field and 30.9% from beyond the arc. He would also be named to the Lone Star Conference's All-Freshman Team. Prior to his time at West Texas A&M, Griechen played at Nagle Catholic College in Australia.
"Bob is a player we have had a chance to watch over the past two years," said Henderson. "He was a standout representing Western Australia in their national tournament as well as the Geraldton Buccaneers in regional competition, before playing for West Texas A&M this past season. From the moment Bob stepped on campus he connected with everybody he met. He is tough both physically and mentally, he loves the game and is a team first guy. He has the ability to play multiple positions which will serve him well in our system. Husky fans will enjoy watching him compete this coming season. We are excited to have him back in the Fall and look forward to working with him in the coming year."
