2020: Season shortened due to COVID-19...tied for the staff lead with six appearances in debut campaign...struck out six over 5.1 innings with a 5.06 ERA and finished with a 1-0 record...did not surrender a run in his first three outings...recorded four outs on four strikeouts against Minnesota-Crookston on March 6...pitched for the Green Bay Booyah of the Northwoods League...made nine relief appearances and struck out seven over 11.2 innings...earned the win in his Northwoods League debut on July 3 against the Rockford Rivets with 2.0 shutout frames out of the bullpen...
2019: Redshirt season as a member of the SCSU baseball team...spent the summer with the Hub City Hotshots of the Expedition League...started six games and struck out an eye-popping 40 batters across 24.1 innings...chartered a 3-3 record and held opponents to a .240 average...threw a masterful 12-strikeout gem against the Pierre Trappers on May 31, firing 5.0 innings of two-hit, zero-walk baseball while allowing just one earned run...also punched out 12 against the Wheat City Whiskey Jacks on June 23...
Before SCSU: A righthanded pitcher, Stevens was a top performer during his prep career at Sleepy Eye H.S. for head coach Aaron Nesvold. Stevens also played summer ball for VFW Post 800 and American Legion Post 7 under the leadership of coaches Andy Judkins and Brett Mitchell...as a high school athlete, Stevens also lettered in basketball and competed in football and cross country...pitched a no-hitter in the MSHSL state tournament with 15 K's to his credit.
Personal: Stevens intends to major in sports management at SCSU with a minor in coaching/marketing...he is the son of Jason and Jamie Stevens.
