2013: A 2013 All-NSIC Second Team selection...2013 All-NSIC Academic Team...tallied a 5-0 record for the Huskies in 2013 with 53 strikeouts and an impressive 0.77 ERA in 46.2 innings of work...only allowed four earned runs and 30 hits...gained one save against Missouri S&T on March 7, 2013...started eight games for the Huskies...had seven strikeouts in 5-0 shutout over UMD on Feb. 17, 2013...pitched a 4-0 shutout against Mary on April 29, 2013...posted a season game-high eight strikeouts in 6-3 win over Bemidji State on May 5, 2013.
2012: Made 15 appearances in relief as he battled injury during his sophomore season…made one start against Wayne State (April 1)…pitched 19.1 total innings including his longest outing (3.1 innings) in the NCAA Central Region title game against Mankato (May 20)…struck out 23 batters…allowed just four extra base hits…went 1-2 on the season in three decisions…posted on save…batters hit at a .212 clip against the lefty…posted a season-high five K’s against UMARY (Feb. 11)…earned his only win of the season against Winona State in the NCAA Central Region tournament opening round (May 17).
2011: Kubitz enjoyed a solid freshman season at SCSU in 2011...posted a 1.88 ERA and a 3-1 overall record...charted 42 strikeouts in 28.2 innings of work, which included just six earned runs and 19 hits allowed...wins cames against Bemidji State, Augustana and Wayne State...one of SCSU's top relief pitchers, Kubitz made 21 appearances for the Huskies in 2011...had six strikeouts in win over BSU.
HIGH SCHOOL: A 2010 graduate of Shakopee High School, where he played under coach Tom Schleper…a three-time letterwinner in baseball and soccer…All-Conference in both sports…named team MVP…Offensive and Defensive player of the Year…A-Honor roll student all four years of high school…National Scholar Athlete.
PERSONAL: The son of Daniel and Cynthia Kubitz of Shakopee…lists his father as the person with the greatest influence on his career…named throwing a one-hitter with 12 strikeouts against the #1 team in the state Prior Lake and hitting the game-winning three point shot in the state championship game as his greatest sports thrill…enjoys playing ping pong, fishing, playing video games and all sports as his favorite actives outside of baseball…named Derek Jeter as his favorite sports personality.
