2013: A 2013 ABCA Division II All-Central Region Second Team selection...2013 NCBWA Division II All-Central Region Second Team selection...2013 Daktronics Division II All-Central Region Second Team selection...2013 All-NSIC First Team selection...Fischer was 11-2 in 2013 with a sterling 1.81 ERA...61 strikeouts in 84.2 innings of work, which included 17 earned runs allowed and just 70 hits allowed...pitched two shutouts with a 6-0 win over Missouri S&T on March 7 and a 2-0 win over Concordia-St. Paul on May 9 in the NSIC tournament...he also notched a complete game win over Southern Arkansas in NCAA tournament action, which included a season-high 10 strikeouts...had seven-or-more strikeouts in four games in 2013...tallied five complete games in 2013.
2012: Daktronics All-Central Region 2nd Team member…Rawlings/American Baseball Coaches Association Central Region 2nd Team member…National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association 2nd Team member…All-NSIC First Team member…made 11 starts and 16 appearances on the hill…owned a stellar 2.21 earned run average…posted an 8-3 record…led the team with six complete games…tied for team lead with three saves…77.1 innings pitched…third on the team with 64 K’s…batters hit only .242 off Fischer…had a season-high eight K’s against Winona State (March 25)…posted seven scoreless appearances…had five or more strikeouts in eight games…had only one start go less than five innings.
2011: Started seven games and made nine appearances in his freshman season… pitched 41.1 total innings…went a perfect 7-0 on the hill…owned a stellar 2.49 earned run average…struck out 37 batters…and gave up just 12 earned runs.
2010: Redshirt at SCSU in 2010.
HIGH SCHOOL: A 2009 graduate of New Ulm Public High School, where he played under coach Jay Backer…a two-time letterwinner in baseball hockey and football…a two-time captain, All-Conference and All-Section player in baseball…named Honorable mention All-State…was a two-time All-Conference and All-Section football player…named 2009 male athlete of the year at New Ulm.
PERSONAL: The son of John and Rose Fischer of New Ulm…lists his parents as the people with the greatest influence on his career…named bus rides and hanging out with friends on the team as his greatest sports thrill…enjoys hunting, fishing and hanging out with friends as his favorite things to do outside of baseball…major is Athletic Training at SCSU.
