Michael Seiffert begins his first season as the head coach for the men's and women's golf teams at the University in 2015-16.
A 1998 graduate of St. Cloud State and former all-conference golfer for the Huskies, Seiffert served as a physical education and health teacher and was the head golf coach for the Providence Academy boys' golf team from 2002 to 2014. Â
He led Providence Academy to the Minnesota State High School League Class AA championship in 2014, and was the chair of the Providence Academy Physical Education and Health department from 2004 to 2012. Concurrently, he also served as a PGA teaching professional at Fox Hollow Golf Club in St. Michael, Minn. since 2011. Â
He received his PGA Master Professional designation in 2012, and has served as a teaching professional at several top locations during his career including Rush Creek Golf Academy, Deacon's Lodge resort, Begin Oaks Golf Course, Daytona Golf Club and Pheasant Acres Golf Course.

Seiffert will replace Judi Larkin, who resigned as the Huskies' coach at the end of the 2014-15 season.

At St. Cloud State, Seiffert earned All-North Central Conference honors in golf in 1997 and was named to the NCC's All-Tournament team and All-Academic team that season.  He was listed on the St. Cloud State student-athlete honor roll  and was the golf team's captain from 1996 to 1998.

Among additional activities, Seiffert has served with the Minnesota High School Golf Coaches Association advisory board since 2008.  He competed in five Minnesota Section Club professional championships and has played in four Minnesota state opens.  In 1992, Seiffert placed eighth at the MSHSL Class AA tournament and he also played with Tiger Woods in the 1992 U.S. Junior Amateur.
Seiffert went on to earn his master of education from St. Mary's University (Minn.) and became a member of the PGA in 2006. Â He resides with his wife Mary and their two children (Shane and Sylvia) in Corcoran.
