Shane Jensen is in his second season and first full season with St. Cloud State after joining the program in the middle of the 2022-23 season. Jensen serves as the director of equipment operations for the men’s hockey team while assisting the women’s hockey team at SCSU and oversees the entire hockey equipment room staff. His duties include equipment procurement, locker room organization for both home and away games, skating sharpening and complete maintenance of the team’s equipment. He also works hand-in-hand with CCM to meet the team’s equipment and apparel needs.
Prior to SCSU, Jensen served as the men’s hockey equipment manager at NCAA Division-I institutions Alaska (2017-19) and Merrimack (2019-2021). In those roles, he oversaw the equipment operations for each program and worked closely with the athletic departments to track budget requirements and fulfill team apparel contracts. Jensen also worked closely with the operations staff at both schools to ensure all road trips were planned and executed accordingly to the team’s needs.
Jensen spent the 2016-17 season with the Sioux Falls Stampede of the USHL as the team’s head equipment manager. In Sioux Falls, Jensen oversaw the equipment operations of the 2016 NHL/USHL Top Prospects Game and attended Minnesota Wild and Chicago Blackhawks player development camps.
Jensen spent the summer of 2016 with the St. Paul Saints, then of the American Association of Professional Baseball, where he served as the clubhouse manager and the clubhouse/equipment manager for the 2016 American Association All-Star Game. His first post in the equipment industry came with the Forest Lake Junior Hockey organization where he served as the equipment manager from 2014-16.
A native of Eagan, Minn., Jensen graduated from St. John’s University in May 2014 with a bachelor’s degree in business administration and minor in accounting. Outside of work, he joins playing hockey in men’s league and spending time outside with his dogs, Sully and Luna. His top career memories include watching moose walk through campus in Anchorage, skating on the glacier lakes in Mt. Denali and winning the 2023 NCHC Frozen Faceoff.
