Breach previously served as the Athletic Communications Graduate Assistant at St. Cloud State from 2020-22. As the graduate assistant under Tom Nelson, Kelsey Whaley and Andrew Melroe, he served as the primary contact for many Huskies programs. Throughout his time as the department's GA, Breach served as an SID, photographer, content creator, social media coordinator, graphic designer, storyteller, public address announcer and statistician among other duties throughout the Athletics department. He led SCSU communications efforts at the 2021 NCAA DII Wrestling National Championships, two NCAA Super Region V Tournaments along with multiple NSIC Championships.
He returned to SCSU after a stint in professional baseball as Broadcaster and Media Relations Coordinator for the Cedar Rapids Kernels, the High-A affiliate of the Minnesota Twins. While with the Kernels, Breach led all team communications efforts and provided play-by-play commentary for both the Kernels Radio Network and MiLB.TV. Cedar Rapids played in the 2022 Minor League Field of Dreams Game at the MLB Field of Dreams Stadium in Dyersville, Iowa, with Breach coordinating media requests throughout the event.
During his undergraduate studies at St. Cloud State, Breach served as Sports Director at KVSC 88.1 FM and was "The Voice" of Huskies baseball, volleyball and men's basketball. Calling well over 400 games and matches, he coordinated KVSC's broadcasts of Huskies Athletics and worked closely with the Athletic Communications staff. He earned an Award of Excellence at the 2019 Broadcast Education Association Festival for his work with Huskies Volleyball.
Breach spent three summers in the Northwoods League, holding the Director of Broadcasting and Media Relations position with the Waterloo Bucks in 2018, 2019 and 2021. While with the Bucks, he was named the play-by-play broadcaster for the 2019 Northwoods League All-Star Game and Home Run Derby.
Originally from Kroschel, Breach grew up in eastern Minnesota and attended Hinckley-Finlayson High School before his family moved across the state to Wheaton. He was a 2016 graduate of Wheaton Area High School where he played baseball and served as the broadcaster for Wheaton/Herman-Norcross fall and winter sports. The son of Michael and Karen Breach, he has a younger brother (Matthew) and was an active participant in many extracurricular activities throughout his time in high school. Thomas enjoys cooking, fishing, reading, exploring state parks and playing decidedly-average golf in his free time.
