Tyler Koivisto Ties for 9th

Bemidji, Minn. -- The St. Cloud State University men's golf team opened the 2012 season at the Bemidji State University Invitational held Sunday and Monday at the Bemidji Town and Country Club. The Huskies placed fifth in the 12 team field.

The University of Manitoba won the team title with a two-day score of 599 (299-300). The Huskies posted a 309-306 for a two-day total of 615.

Sophomore Tyler Koivisto (Cokato) led the Huskies finishing in a tie for ninth place after firing rounds of 76-75 for a seven over par 151. Juniors Devin Holmes (Ramsey) and Charlie West (Victoria) tied for 17th with two day totals of 153. Holmes shot a 78-75 while West shot 76-77.
