The Huskies found themselves with five minutes of power-play action in the second on a major penalty and game misconduct call but were unable to capitalize. Duluth kept the 1-0 lead going into the second intermission of the game.
A back and forth third period kept the game to a 1-0 Duluth lead till seconds from the final buzzer. Senior Julia Gilbert brought the Huskies back tying the game up 1-1 from right in front of the net with 22 seconds left in the game. Molli Mott and Amy Olson were credited with the assists.
Gilbert's goal sent the game to overtime which ended in a 1-1 tie but fell in the shootout, 2-0. St. Cloud ended the game 0-for-2 on the power-play, while UMD was 1-for-3.
