St. Cloud, Minn. – The St. Cloud State volleyball team battled against Minnesota State this evening in Halenbeck Hall. The Huskies fought for every point but just weren't able to pull off the win. The final scores were 27-29, 25-18, 23-25 and 15-25.
The Huskies fall to 7-11 overall and 1-9 in the NSIC. Minnesota State improves to 11-6 overall and 7-3 in the NSIC.
Both Shannon Klink (Hartford, Wis.) and Sophie Jaskulske (Maplewood, Minn.) led the Huskies in kills with 11. Klink had a .276 attack percentage, while Jaskulske averaged a .333.
Erin Ohlemann (Golden Valley, Minn.) recorded 40 assists and 7 digs.
Brianne Stamer (Hutchinson, Minn.) led the team defensively with 18 digs.
Chandra Honebrink led the Mavericks to a win with 20 kills. Krista Hassing was right behind Honebrink with 19 kills, averaging a .424 attack percentage. Hassing also totaled 7 blocks against the Huskies.
The Huskies host Minnesota-Crookston Tuesday, Oct. 14 at 7:00 p.m. in Halenbeck Hall. The Golden Eagles are coming off of two losses against Winona State and Upper Iowa.
