#2 Ranked Golden Gophers Defeat the St. Cloud State Huskies 7-0

Minneapolis, Minn---The St. Cloud State Huskies (5-13-1, 2-0-1 WCHA) dropped 7-0 to the Minnesota Gophers (16, 1-2, 11-1-2 WCHA) on Saturday, Dec. 6th at the Ridder Arena in Minneapolis.
The first goal came midway through the first period, when Minnesota's Sydney Baldwin, sent a shot from the point past SCSU's junior goaltender, Katie Fitzgerald. Two more even strength goals followed in the first for the Gophers.
The second saw one goal from the Gophers, as they were awarded a power play after SCSU's Lexi Slattery, was sent to the box for tripping at 4:49. The game was sent into second intermission with a 4-0 score. Minnesota charted their last 3 goals of the contest late in the third period to make it a 7-0 game.
The Huskies took 4 penalties and successfully killed off 3 of them. St. Cloud State was unable to put one past Gophers goaltender and remained scoreless in the two game series.
Between the pipes was Katie Fitzgerald, who stopped 31 of the 38 shots she was faced with.
St. Cloud returns home for the last series before Winter break. They take on the Bemidji State Beavers on Dec. 12-13.
