Ryynanen on top of leaderboard after 2nd round at NSIC championships

St. Cloud State University freshman Troy Ryynanen owns a share of first place after the second round of the 2015-16 NSIC Men's Golf Championships, which was completed on Oct. 6 at THe Jewell Golf Club in Lake City, Minn.
Ryynanen charted a two-day total of 144 (73-71) in the fall portion of the championships. The individual leaderboard has four players tied at two-over-par (144) for the championship. Minnesota State's Kelton Schmitz, who led after round one, followed up his tournament low round of 69 with a 75 in round two. Joining Ryynanen atop the leaderboard were Winona State's Jon Lindquist (72-72), Upper Iowa's Curtis Cooksley (74-70) and Minnesota State Mankato's Kelton Schmitz (69-75).
Minnesota State used rounds of 286 and 297 to finish at 583 (+15) to remain atop the leaderboard after round two of the NSIC Men's Golf Championship played at The Jewel Golf Club in Lake, City, Minn. The Mavericks hold a six stroke lead over second place Winona State (295-294=598 +21) and a 13 stroke lead over third place St. Cloud State (294-302=596 +28).
The NSIC Men's Golf Championship will resume next spring as the final 36 holes of the 72-hole championship will be played April 9-10 at Paradise Pointe Golf Complex in Smithville, Missouri.
After two rounds, SCSU's David Scharenbroich was tied for 7th place in the standings with a score of 147 (74-73) and teammate Chase Hahne was in 16ht place at 150 (74-76). Jack Barnhart was tied in 31st place with a score of 156 (73-83) and Riley Duncanson was tied for 35th place at 157 (75-82).
