St. Cloud, Minn. - St. Cloud State head football coach Scott Underwood talked recently with KVSC's Caleb Forberg for a midweek interview.
Forberg and Coach Underwood talked about last week's game against Concordia-St. Paul. Among the highlights that were talked about was the victory over Concordia-St. Paul, the keys to the team's victory over the Golden Bears, the play of quarterback Dwayne Lawhorn thus far this season, the importance of having a balanced running attack, the play of the team's defense and this week's upcoming opponent Augustana.

St. Cloud State defeated Concordia-St. Paul by a 56-21 margin last weekend. Lawhorn led the attack with four passing touchdowns among his 18 completions for 254 yards. He also ran 11 times for 73 yards and a touchdown. Lawhorn's two favorite targets were senior Cole Otto, who had eight catches for 111 yards and a touchdown plus junior John Pass, who had seven catches for 110 yards and two touchdowns. The team sported a balanced rushing attack with sophomore Curtwan Evans running for 69 yards, junior Gregory Lewis sporting 47 yards rushing and two touchdowns plus redshirt freshman Matt Winters racking up 44 yards and a score on the ground. Junior Jack Horter led the defense with his six tackles and a sack. SCSU put up a season-high 482 yards and 28 touchdowns in the victory over CSP.
SCSU (2-1, 0-0 NSIC South) is back at home this weekend, Sept. 23, and hosts Augustana (2-1, 0-0 NSIC North) at 6 p.m. in the Hall of Fame Game at Husky Stadium.
