#24 Huskies Rally to 9-7 Victory Over Northern State

A five-run fifth inning pushed the Huskies past the Wolves in Sunday's afternoon tilt
St. Cloud State left 11 runners on base in a game they trailed 7-4 through seven innings. It was not until the eighth inning when the Huskies rallied off of three hit batters, two walks and a pair of singles to push across five runs and steal the lead from the Wolves.Â
Shannon Ahern had a stellar outing on the mound, picking up his second win of the season and striking out four while only allowing one run and one hit.Â
At the plate, Jackson Goplen recorded an inside-the-park homerun while also recording three RBI's in the game. Caeden Harris was 3-5 and also totaled three RBI's. Harris also made a crucial diving grab at the warning track in left field in the top of the ninth inning to prevent the game from continuing with multiple runners in scoring position.Â
St. Cloud State takes on Southwest Minnesota State at 12:30 MST tomorrow (Monday, Mar. 3) and Northern State once again following the completion of the game against Southwest.
