#11 St. Cloud State to Play Eight Games in Tucson, Arizona

The Huskies return to action for eight games in the Tucson Invitational Games, hosted at the Kino Sports Complex.
TUCSON, Ariz. -Â The #11 St. Cloud State baseball team (5-1, 0-0 NSIC) returns to action for the Tucson Invitational Games from March 4-10 at the Kino Sports Complex in Tucson, Arizona. SCSU is coming off of a 2-1 weekend after their weekend series in Joplin, MO, sweeping Wisconsin Parkside, then falling to Missouri S&T in the final game of the trip.Â

Monday, March 4 - Concordia University, NE (3:00 PM, Stadium)
The Huskies open their spring trip against Concordia University, a NAIA opponent whom they have never played against.Â
Tuesday, March 5 - Benedictine University at Mesa (6:30 PM, Field 5)
SCSU's second NAIA opponent of the trip is 11-4 overall and 2-0 in conference play with two notable wins against Ottawa University (AZ), an opponent the Huskies fell 8-4 against in last year's spring break trip. This is the first time the Redhawks and Huskies will meet in each of their program histories.Â
Wednesday, March 6 - Concordia-St. Paul (4:00 PM, Field 5)Â
CSP is off to a 1-0 start after defeating Concordia (Neb.) in their opening game of the Tucson Invitational Games.
The Golden Bears are coming off of a 26-16 (16-10 NSIC) 2018 season that included a playoff run that took CSP to the NSIC Tournament Championship against eventual NCAA DII National Champion, Augustana University. SCSU was 2-0 against CSP last season, including a 13 inning finish that featured a seven-inning, four strikeout start from Dominic Austing. Austing only allowed one run on six hits in his start, while Nathan Strobel tossed four scoreless innings in relief. Kyle Boser was the pitcher of record for SCSU after relieving Strobel in the 11th inning, tossing two more innings of scoreless baseball and only allowing one hit. Jackson Goplen's three-run homer in the 13th inning sealed SCSU's victory over CSP.
Of note, SCSU is 40-19-1 all-time against the Golden Bears.Â
Thursday, March 7 - Bemidji State (3:00 PM, Stadium)
The Beavers are 1-3 after opening their season against Rockhurst University in Fort Scott, Kansas. BSU finished 8-36 (6-22) in 2018.
St. Cloud State was 3-1 against the Beavers last season, defeating BSU 13-1, 6-0 and 15-4. Kyle Boser, Shannon Ahern and Dominic Austing each earned victories on the bump for SCSU in their final regular season games of the year.Â
SCSU leads the all-time series 130-42-1 in games dating back to 1933.Â
Friday, March 8 - Southwest Minnesota State (3:00 PM, Field 5)
SMSU is coming off of a 17-23 (12-18 NSIC) 2018 campaign that included one meeting with SCSU in Tucson. The Huskies defeated SMSU 8-2 after Jordan Joseph, Jackson Goplen and Caeden Harris each recorded two RBI's. Zach Siggelkow struck out six and allowed one earned run in his six innings of work in the victory.Â
Friday, March 8 - Minot State (6:30 PM, Field 5)
In the Huskies take on the 2018 NSIC Regular Season champs in the second game of their Friday twin-bill. The Beavers enjoyed a 34-16 (29-6 NSIC) season, advancing to the semi-finals of the NSIC Tournament and earning the regular season crown. St. Cloud State swept Minot State in the regular season by scores of 9-8 and 8-3 but fell in the NSIC Tournament, 13-6.
SCSU walked off the Beavers in their first meeting of the year with a single from Jordan Joseph through the left side to win 9-8.
Saturday, March 9 -Morningside College, IA (6:30 PM, Field 3)
The Huskies will face Morningside College for the first time in program history on Saturday, March 9th. The Mustangs are off to a 5-1 start with notable wins over Waldorf University and Culver-Stockton College.Â
Sunday, March 10 - Concordia-St. Paul (10:00 AM, Field 7)
Scheduled games against NSIC opponents will not count as conference games, but will count as NCAA central regional contests.Â
