The St. Cloud State University Baseball team invites all baseball fans to fill Joe Faber Field on Saturday, April 27, as the Huskies take on NSIC rival Northern State University for a league doubleheader beginning at 1:30 p.m.Â
In an effort to promote college baseball in Central Minnesota the game is dubbed "Fill Faber Field." Â
"We really want to continue to get all of our SCSU fans and the rest of the baseball community involved with our Huskies baseball program. It will be a great day for all baseball fans to support SCSU baseball as we battle for the top spot in the NSIC standings," said head coach Pat Dolan.
Â
The day will include several events including a Father/Son Baseball Clinic from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Joe Faber Field in St. Cloud before the game. Participants will have a chance to get player autographs, run the bases with the SCSU Huskies and have a baseball lunch before the game. Â
The day has also been designated as SCSU Baseball Alumni Day with all former Huskies being honored between games of the doubleheader against Northern State. A post-game social for the baseball alumni will be held at the Ultimate Sports Bar and Grill.
The SCSU Baseball Parents will also be saluted with the Dad's throwing out the ceremonial first pitch before game one and the parents being recognized between games one and two. Â
To cap the day, a variety of in-game promotions and prize giveaways will take place throughout the twinbill against the Wovles. All in all, this promises to be a fun day at the ballpark for all Huskies fans. Tickets for the doubleheader will be available at the gate on game day. For more details, please contact the SCSU baseball office at 320-333-3336 or e-mail pldolan@stcloudstate.edu
The weekend of SCSU baseball at home will wrap on Sunday, April 28 with a Noon start against Northern State (1 9-inning game). The game has been designated as Senior Day and all SCSU baseball seniors will be recognized for their contributions to the program before the game.
SCSU is currently ranked #5 in the country in the latest NCBWA DII national poll with a sterling 29-6 overall record and a 17-4 record in the always rugged NSIC.
