SCSU's Janine Alder pens inspirational book on her return to team in 2019-20

St. Cloud State University women's hockey goalie Janine Alder recently completed the publication of her book (written in German) title Der erste Gedanke - Ein Berich uber die Gesunheit und das uralte Tier in uns. The books covers her experience with recovering from a seizure suffered while participating at the IIHF World Championships for her home country of Switzerland from April 4-April 14, 2019. The tournament was held in Finland and was another part of Alder's impressive international hockey resume that includes trips to two Winter Olympic games with Team Switzerland in Sochi and South Korea.

The book details her recovery and return to St. Cloud State University for her senior season with the Huskies in 2019-20. Alder has been selected as a team captain for this year's squad, which will open its 2019-20 campaign on Sept. 28 with a 2:07 p.m. home exhibition game at the Herb Brooks National Hockey Center against Regina.
