St. Cloud State won its fifth NSIC Swimming & Diving Championship as the Huskies amassed 893.5 points to repeat as NSIC Champions.
SCSU's Rebekah Stone was voted NSIC Diver of the Year while teammate Madison Brinkman earned NSIC Diver of the Meet honors as she scored 40 points. SCSU's Kayla Deters was voted NSIC Diving Coach of the Year for the fourth straight season. The Huskies Jeff Hegle was voted by his peers at NSIC Swimming Coach of the Year, earning the honor for the second time in his career.
On the final day of the championship Alexis Burroughs and Minnesota State's Katie Streiff tied in the 100 IM with times of 58.22. SCSU's Chelsea Gehrke won the 100 freestyle in a NCAA "B" cut time of 50.98 and teammate Kasey Milstroh placed third in the race with a time of 51:68.
Madison Brinkman won the 3 meter dive with 460.05 points, while Meredith Matchinsky placed second with a score of 446.15, Rebekah Stone was third with a score of 443.60 and Alyssa Doherty was fourth with a score of 435.60.
The relay team of Chelsea Gehrke, Christina Ware, Alexis Burroughs, Kasey Milstroh from St. Cloud State won the 400 freestyle in a time of 3:26. 61.
The NCAA will announce the field for the NCAA Championships on Wednesday, Feb 26. The NCAA Championships will be held on March 11-14 at SPIRE Institute in Geneva, Ohio.
