NSIC Release
BURNSVILLE, MINN. – To just say St. Cloud State University men's basketball senior Trevon Marshall (Evanston, Ill. / Evanston) had a good season is unjust and a gross understatement. In reality, the senior guard had a breakout season, as he led the Huskies in nearly offensive category, both in and out of Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) play. This week, Marshall was honored for his outstanding 2019-20 season, as he earned First Team All-NSIC honors, the conference office announced Thursday morning.
Marshall was the lone Husky honored by the NSIC after his breakout senior season at St. Cloud State. In his fourth and final year with the Huskies, Marshall appeared and started all 28 games for St. Cloud State and set career highs in minutes played (937), points scored (605), field goal percentage (.488), rebounds (116), assists (139) and steals. He averaged a team-leading and career-high 21.6 points per game, which ranked third in the conference, and became the 43rd player in program history to reach the 1000 points milestone thanks to his 605 point scored during the regular season.
What may be more impressive are Marshall's numbers against conference opponents. During NSIC play, Marshall scored in double-digits in 21 of the Huskies 22 conference and scored 30+ points in five different NSIC games. He averaged 23.8 points per game average against conference opponents ranked third behind NSIC Player of the Year Brandon Myer and Minnesota-Crookston's Harrison Cleary, and his 5.3 assists/game average was second only to Max Cody at Minot State.
Marshall and the rest of the St. Cloud State men's basketball team saw its season end Wednesday evening with a 75-67 loss to Augustana in the first round of the NSIC/Sanford Health Classic. The Huskies concluded the year with an overall record of 14-15 and an 11-11 mark in NSIC play.
