The St. Cloud State University baseball team (9-3) charted a 6-3 win over Gannon University on Saturday, March 7. The game was played today at the Lake Myrtle Park baseball complex in Auburndale, Fla.
SCSU will continue its week of games in Florida with a March 8 match against Minnesota State, Mankato at the Lake Myrtle Park baseball complex.
In action against Gannon, SCSU trailed 3-0 before the Huskies ignited for three runs in the fourth inning. The fireworks started with a single by Jake Shusterich, which was followed by a two-run homer by Reid Conlee. Kyle Rodriguez finished the scoring with an RBI double to right center that scored Aaron Hammann.
In the top of the eighth, Lenny Walker connected on a two-run double that scored Josh Hill and Rodriguez. A single by Matt Quade pushed Walker across the plate to finalize the scoring at 6-3.
SCSU and Gannon each had 10 hits apiece in the game. Conlee (HR), Walker (2 doubles) and Quade all had two hits in the game for SCSU.  Both Conlee and Walker had two RBIs apiece in the game.
On the mound, George Loxtercamp was the pitcher of record with 5.1 innings of relief work. He had seven strikeouts in the game.
