Huskies outscore Badgers 9-2 in series sweep
ST. CLOUD, Minn. – No. 3/3 St. Cloud State Men's Hockey (6-2-0, 0-0-0 NCHC) finished off its weekend series sweep of the Wisconsin Badgers (2-4-0, 0-0-0 B1G) with a 4-1 win on Saturday night at the Herb Brooks National Hockey Center in St. Cloud, Minn. Four different Huskies scored in the game while junior goalie Jaxon Castor (Phoenix, Ariz.) recorded the win in his first start of the season.

TURNING POINT

After an uneventful first period in which St. Cloud State killed off two penalties, the second period proved to be far more entertaining. The Huskies broke their 23-minute scoring drought at 3:13 in the period, as graudate forward Kevin Fitzgerald (Hinsdale, Ill.) buried a saucer pass from graduate defenseman Seamus Donohue (North Oaks, Minn.) on the power play to give St. Cloud State a 1-0 lead. That was all the Huskies needed to jump start their offense, as they scored two more goals in the period, one short-handed by senior forward Micah Miller (Grand Rapids, Minn.) and another power play goal from senior forward Easton Brodzinski (Blaine, Minn.) to make it 3-0 St. Cloud State after two.

Wisconsin answered with a shorthanded goal in the third, but senior forward Nolan Walker (Anchorage, Alaska) sealed the 4-1 victory for the Huskies with an empty netter.
