ST. CLOUD, Minn. – St. Cloud State Men's Soccer fell 1-0 on the road to Northwood University on Sunday afternoon, putting just four shots on goal in a feisty defensive contest. The Timberwolves received a red card in the 37th minute, playing man-down for the final 52. Gage Steiner made five stops in the loss.

TOP HUSKIES
• Gage Steiner stopped five shots.
• Nick Ashton put a Huskies-high two shots on goal.

QUOTABLES
St. Cloud State Men's Soccer Head Coach Sean Holmes
"This grueling GLIAC schedule keeps presenting new challenges and opportunities to us. We played up a man for 52 minutes and couldn't find a goal. A combination of inexperience, profligacy and a little bad luck kept us from evening up the contest. We could've been down a few after the first 20 but we slowly gained control and momentum even before the red card ejection. Northwood did well to bunker in and protect their lead. We have to be more clinical in our finishing. Mika Folstad, Nick Ashton, Noah Kantorowicz and Jake Leonard all provided fresh legs and ideas off the bench. Part of our growth is deepening our squad and just not being reliant on our first eleven. Gage Steiner came up with a few important saves at key moments. We'll bounce back next week."
UP NEXT
St. Cloud State travels to Northern Michigan and UW-Parkside on Friday and Sunday respectively, continuing their road trip. Friday's match at Marquette will start at 1:30 p.m. CST while Sunday's Parkside tilt is scheduled for 11:00 a.m. CST. Coverage information for both matches will be available on the SCSU Men's Soccer page.
