ST. CLOUD, Minn. – The St. Cloud State University men's basketball team found itself in a shootout Saturday afternoon, as the team hosted the Bemidji State University Beavers in Halenbeck Hall. Despite scoring well over 80 points, the Huskies fell to the visiting Beavers 97-83, dropping to 4-5 overall with a 1-2 record in Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) play.
GAME SUMMARY
It was a high-flying affair from the minute St. Cloud State and Bemidji State stepped on the court Saturday afternoon in St. Cloud, Minnesota. The two teams provided plenty of highlights, both on the offensive and defensive side of the ball, with crazy shots and monster blocks worthy of 2K play. The Huskies, though, eventually went cold, while the Beavers got hot, resulting in a 56-41 Bemidji State lead at the half.
St. Cloud State worked to make up the deficit in the second half, but it was too much to overcome. Despite 24 second-half points from Anthony Roberts (Chicago, Ill. / Oak Park) and 10 from Josh Tomasi (Melbourne, Australia / Box Hill), the Huskies were unable to make up the 15 points deficit, falling by a final score of 97-83.
