
St. Cloud State Track & Field’s Arason Named NSIC Field Athlete of the Week

Arason posts NCAA provisional standard mark of 3,691 points in pentathlon victory
ST. CLOUD, Minn. – St. Cloud State Women's Track & Field senior Hannah Arason (Grand Forks, N.D.) was named Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Field Athlete of the Week, as announced by the conference on Monday. Arason won the pentathlon at the Mark Shuck Open in Mankato over the weekend.
Arason won the multi-event in Mankato a score of 3,691 points, a score which ranks third in NCAA DII and first in the NSIC. The mark surpassed the NCAA Provisional by almost 500 points (3,258), as she won the 60m hurdles (9.07), high jump (1.70m/5-7), long jump (5.40m/17-8.75) and the 800m run (2:25.92). Her high jump mark of 1.70m (5-7) places her 11th in NCAA Division II and second in the NSIC.
Next up, the Huskies will head back to Mankato for the Ted Nelson Classic on Saturday, Feb. 5. The meet is scheduled to start at 11:00 a.m. CT at Myers Field House.
