Volleyball announces 2022 schedule

ST. CLOUD, MINN. - It's May, which means it's time to start preparing for the 2022 St. Cloud State University volleyball schedule. With summer just around the corner, the reigning Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) champs announced their schedule for the upcoming 2022 season Friday morning.
St. Cloud State's schedule is once again jam packed with tough competition, both in nonconference and Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) play. In total, the Huskies will play 28 matches during the regular season, including 20 against NSIC opponents. Additionally, St. Cloud State will face at least six teams who either received votes or were ranked in the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) during the 2022 season.
Of the Huskies 28 matches, 14 will be played in the comforts of Halenbeck Hall, as the team's home tournament is set to return in 2022. St. Cloud State will once again host the Huskies Volleyball Classic August 25-27, which will feature Oklahoma Baptist, Drury, Seattle Pacific and Ashland. In addition to the home tournament, St. Cloud State will also host 10 NSIC matches during the regular season as the Huskies look to defend their NSIC title.
St. Cloud State is coming off its best season in program history, as the Huskies won their first NSIC regular season title since 1982 and first NSIC Tournament title in program history. St. Cloud State posted an overall record of 27-5 with a 19-1 mark in NSIC play to finish alone atop the conference standings in 2021. The Huskies additionally earned the No. 2 seed at the Central Regional in Warrensburg, Missouri, closed the season ranked #10 in the AVCA top-25 poll, and set the records for fewest losses in a single-season and best single-season win percentage. St. Cloud State also closed the 2021 season as one of the top offensive teams in the nation, as the Huskies ranked top-50 in the nation in team kills and kills/set and top-15 in assists and assists/set entering the NCAA Regional.
