Arason Wraps Up First Day of Competition at NCAA Outdoor Championships

Arason sits in 12th place in heptathlon with 3,001 points

ALLENDALE, Mich. – St. Cloud State Women's Track & Field's senior Hannah Arason (Grand Forks, N.D.) sits in 12^th place in the heptathlon after the first day of competition at the NCAA Division II Outdoor Track & Field Championships, held in Allendale, Mich. Arason posted her best finish of the day in the high jump, checking in at fourth place.

The Husky senior opened the day with a 15^th-place finish in the 100m hurdles, scoring 802 points with a time of 15.30. Arason then took to the high jump pit, where she finished fourth with a clearance of 1.69m (5-6.5) to score 842 points. She finished the day with a 10^th-place finish in the shot put (10.80m (35-5.25) and a 12^th-place finish in the 200m dash at 26.26. Through four events, she has scored 3,001 points, and is 591 points Saginaw Valley's Cheyenne Williamson, who leads the competition with 3,592 points.

The heptathlon will wrap up tomorrow, with the long jump (9:30 a.m.), javelin (11:15 a.m.) and 800m run (12:30 p.m.).
