ST. CLOUD, Minn. - The St. Cloud State Huskies (1-1-2 GLIAC) dropped 3-0 to the Colorado Christian Cougars (2-1-1 RMAC) tonight at Husky Stadium. While the Huskies found themselves in multiple scoring positions, their execution fell short to find the back of the net. The Cougars scored twice in the first half and closed out the game with their third goal in the second.
TURNING POINT
Junior forward Chief Williams found himself in an opportunity to make the match 2-1 going into the second but his shot was right of the net. Colorado's offense and defense dominated together to hold the Huskies scoreless.
TOP HUSKIES
"Good learning experience for us tonight. We created some good chances, but were second best on the night. Our captains; Vukota Mastilovic, Zinedine Kroeten and Gage Steiner stepped up to help lead, but we need more leadership and grit from the upperclassmen. The true freshman; Owen Worsdell, Ronald Hall, Rhys Ward, Yuken Harmon, and Faith Gnadji all once again grew and contributed good minutes. Now it's onto the GLIAC."
NOTABLES
St. Cloud State will start conference play in the GLIAC next weekend. The Huskies will hit the road to Wisconsin to take on UW-Parkside on September 9. Then on September 11, SCSU will hop over to Michigan to take on the Northern Michigan Wildcats. Friday, September 9 game will start at 2:30 p.m. CT and Sunday, September 11 game will kickoff at noon CT.
