SCSU to take on UW-Parkside & Northern Michigan
ST. CLOUD, Minn. - St. Cloud State men's soccer (1-1-2 GLIAC) will travel to Kenosha, WI and Marquette, MI to begin conference play in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference this weekend. The Huskies will open against the UW-Parkside Rangers (3-1) tomorrow. The match is set to kickoff at 2:30 p.m. CT. in Kenosha, then SCSU will hop over to Marquette to take on the Northern Michigan Wildcats (1-2-1). That match kicks off at 12:00 p.m. CT. Both matches will be streamed on Flo Sports and live stats will be available on each teams respective websites.
The Huskies are looking to gain some moment after falling 3-0 to Colorado Christian this past weekend. While SCSU found themselves in multiple scoring positions, their execution fell short to find the back of the net. Colorado held strong on offense and defense to secure their 3-0 win. Redshirt senior Gage Steiner (Alton, IL) has been an unstoppable force in the box so far this season. The goalkeeper has a mark of six saves on the season and continues to hold down the net.Â
UW-Parkside opened it season with two wins against Quincy University (Aug. 25, 1-0) and Lewis University (Aug. 28, 2-0). They fell to Illinois Springfield (Aug. 31, 1-2) and rallied back to win against Missouri St. Louis (Sep. 2, 1-0). Northern Michigan is 1-2-1 on the season. They opened with a win against Wisconsin-Lutheran (Aug. 25, 1-0) followed by 2-2 tie against Quincy University (Aug. 28). Their last two games they fell against Lewis University (Sep. 1, 0-1) and UIndy (Sep. 4, 1-2).Â
