No. 9 Huskies Volleyball Sweeps Mary to Open Final Regular Season Homestand

St. Cloud State hits .388 with 53 kills in straight-set win, Foley records 15th double-double on the season
ST. CLOUD, Minn. – No. 9 St. Cloud State Volleyball (18-6, 11-4 NSIC) cruised past Mary (3-20, 2-13 NSIC) in straight sets on Friday evening at Halenbeck Hall in St. Cloud, taking the match 25-15, 25-10 and 25-17. The Huskies hit .388 on the evening with 53 kills while holding Mary to 22 kills on .098 hitting.
Senior outside hitter Kenzie Foley (Sergeant Bluffs, Iowa) led all players with 24 kills and hit a scorching .618 as a part of a dominating effort. Foley also added 10 digs on the night to earn her 15th double-double of the season. Freshman middle blocker Hannah Bruskiewicz (Rogers, Minn.) hit .571 with nine kills. The Huskies owned a .530 kill percentage on sets by sophomore setter Emma Berran (Inver Grove Heights, Minn.) as she provided 35 assists.

"It was a nice team win tonight. I thought our defensive effort was very solid overall. Kenzie [Foley] was very aggressive attacking, Hannah Bruskiewicz was very efficient and Keely [Kurschner] did a great job digging balls. Our service was very solid and we put some pressure on them from the service line which helped us out by making it easier to defend."

- Foley led the game in kills (24) and hitting percentage (.618) and added 10 digs to record her 15th double-double of the year. It was the first time this season that Foley has hit over .500 and her 24 kills is the third most she has recorded in a match this year.
- Bruskiewicz hit .571 with nine kills. It was the first time in her career that she hit over .500.
- Berran recorded 35 assists with a pair of kills and a pair of digs while her hitters recorded a .530 kill percentage on her sets. She is 42 assists away from reaching 1,000 on the season.
- Redshirt sophomore Sam Zimmerman (Moorhead, Minn.) recorded seven kills, one solo block and one block assist. She now has over 450 career kills.
- Junior libero Keely Kurschner (Maplewood, Minn.) recorded 14 digs, five assists and four service aces. Her four service aces/points are a season high. She now has over 350 digs this season.
- Senior Allena Shimon (Des Moines, Iowa) recorded ten assists and eight digs. Her 10 assists are a single-game season high.
- Freshman Shelby Kimm (North Liberty, Iowa) recorded 10 digs, five kills on .444 hitting and two service aces. .444 is the third best single game hitting percentage in her career.
