St. Cloud State Volleyball Signs Five for 2024

Laurin Hamann, Mollie Hobson, Braya LaPlant, Kinsey Mohwinkle and Carlie Willis join SCSU next fall
ST. CLOUD Minn. – St. Cloud State Volleyball and head coach Chad Braegelmann have announced the addition of five student-athletes to the program's 2024 signing class on Wednesday. Libero Laurin Hamann, opposite Mollie Hobson, setter Braya LaPlant, middle blocker Kinsey Mohwinkle and outside hitter/opposite Carlie Willis will each begin their collegiate careers in 2024 at St. Cloud State.
Four states are represented in the Huskies' 2024 early signing class with the program's upper Midwest ties on full display as LaPlant stays in her home state of Minnesota, Hamann joins the program from Wisconsin, Mohwinkle and Willis each hail from Iowa and Hobson comes to the Huskies from Illinois.
We are very excited for our 2024 class as we bring in one player at all five positions," said Braegelmann, "They will add depth, athleticism, high level club and high experience and competitiveness to a team that has been competitive in the very challenging NSIC."

"Mollie is another explosive front row player for us and touches almost 10 feet. Her ability to slow down outside hitters as a right front pin while blocking has been very impressive in her high school and club seasons. Mollie has the ability to play six rotations and is very effective attacking out of the back row as well. We are excited to have her on court demeanor and consistency at St Cloud State and we are excited to have her on board."

"Kinsey is very fast twitch and explosive. She also jumps well, and can put pace on the ball offensively. Kinsey works hard as a blocker which will give her chances at the net defensively to slow down opponents and create stuff block opportunities for our team. The plan is to train her in the middle, where she can run and hit sets from pin to pin. She plays on a very competitive club team, and we are excited to see how she transitions to the college game!"
