Huskies Volleyball to host various camps and clinics throughout the winter, spring and summer
ST. CLOUD, Minn. – St. Cloud State Volleyball will host a series of camps and clinics throughout the winter, spring and summer of 2024. The Huskies will host their annual skills/positional training on five dates in February, March and April and four different camps/clinics in July.
Fresh off a fourth-straight NSIC Tournament Championship appearance and NCAA Tournament Appearance, St. Cloud State will host its spring positional/skills training clinics on February 9, February 10, March 10, April 5 and April 7 for boys and girls grades 5-12. Each date will feature different options to work on volleyball skills. Participants will choose one skill to train each day: setting, attacking/blocking or defense/passing. Coaches will split players into age-appropriate groups for 75 minutes of training and skills work before combining for games/play. Players can sign up for one or multiple dates, and the cost is $30 per date.
The Huskies Volleyball squad will also host a variety of camps in July. The first camp in July is the elite positional camp on July 19-20 for girls in grades 8-12. This camp will focus on the development of individual and position specific skills/training along with team training. It is designed for campers with varsity and/or club volleyball experience that are thinking of playing in college. Each session will have specific time for positional work (setters, outside hitters, middle blockers, liberos/defensive specialists) while also working in a team setting and spending time on teamwork and general skills in team competitions. Position work will contain drills unique to each position. Campers will be separated by skill level and grade. The two-day camp has a day option ($295) and an overnight option ($370) and the schedule can be found on the registration link.
The next camp in July is the summer skills camp on July 22-24 for boys and girls grades 4-9. This camp will focus on the development of the six basic volleyball skills (serving, passing, setting, attacking, digging and blocking). Campers will have the opportunity to apply the skills learned through instruction during camp with various games, competitions and 6-on-6 play. Campers will be separated by grade/skill level. The daily schedule can be found on the registration link.
The Huskies Big Dog Clinic is on July 24 for girls grades 9-12. This camp will provide high level skills instruction, game-like drills and competitive experience for high school aged volleyball players from the Midwest region. The cost is $40.
The final camp of the summer is the team camp on July 25-26 for girls grades 9-12. The team camp is a fantastic way to put your team a step ahead of the competition this summer! Our staff provides a structured camp that will focus on individual positions, tactical instruction, and team systems. All teams will have an opportunity to train together in various skills, competitive drills and scrimmages throughout this 2-day camp. Each team will be assigned a Camp Coach by SCSU Head Coach Chad Braegelmann. That coach will plan each session to address specific needs, while helping guide your team through tactics and techniques. The two-day camp has a day option ($150) and an overnight option ($200) and the camp setup/schedule can be found on the registration link. (*note – to register, first, each coach must register their team. Once the coach has registered their team then the players will go to player registration, select their team, and complete registration and payment).
Players can register for the camps online (spring positional/skills training clinics | elite positional camp | summer skills camp | Big Dog Clinic | team camp) . Pre-registration is encouraged, as space is limited.
