Farrell scores late goal to help force overtime, Huskies fall in shootout
MENDOTA HEIGHTS, Minn. – No. 8/7 St. Cloud State Women's Hockey (6-1-2, 2-1-2 Western Collegiate Hockey Association) skated to a 1-1 tie with (RV) St. Thomas, with the Tommies earning the shootout win and extra conference point on Friday night at the Saint Thomas Ice Arena in Mendota Heights.

St. Thomas (4-2-1, 2-2-1 WCHA) jumped out to a 1-0 lead early in the second period. The Huskies equalizer came from junior forward Avery Farrell (Rogers, Minn.) who scored an unassisted goal with just over five minutes left in the third period to force overtime.

Graduate forward Emma Gentry (Alpena, Mich.) and fifth year forward Abby Promersberger (Fargo, N.D.) each converted on their penalty shot, meanwhile freshman goaltender Emilia Kyrkkö (Nokia, Finland) saved three of the penalty shots she faced.
