No. 10 St. Cloud State to Take Part in Home-and-Home Series Versus No. 5 Minnesota

ST. CLOUD, Minn. — The St. Cloud State Women's Hockey Team (15-12-1, 10-11-1 WCHA) is set to take on No. 5 Minnesota (22-5-1, 16-5-1 WCHA) this Friday and Saturday. Friday's contest will be played at the Herb Brooks National Hockey Center with puck drop set for 6:00 p.m. CT. The Huskies will be on the road for Saturday's contest with puck drop set for 2:00 p.m. CT at Ridder Arena.
SERIES HISTORY
The interstate rivalry dates back to January 1, 1999, the Huskies and Gophers first meeting. Minnesota was able to pick up the win by a score of 10-0. Since then, St. Cloud State has gone 4-104-4 in 112 total games played versus the Gophers. At home, the Huskies are 3-43-2 and on the road, the team has gone 0-58-2. While the Huskies have not been able to pick up a win on the road, they have gone 1-3-0 at neutral sites.
Last time the Huskies took down the Gophers was on November 7, 2022 at the sold-out U.S. Hockey Hall of Fame Face-off Classic in Andover, Minnesota. Current Huskies Klara Hymlarova and Addi Scribner each tallied goals to help their team take down the then top-ranked team in the nation by a score of 4-1.
The Huskies and the Gophers last met on December 5, 2023 at the Herb Brooks National Hockey Center. The Tuesday match was a tight game as the teams tied 1-1, with the Gophers picking up the extra conference point in the shootout. Addi Scribner (Woodbury, Minn.) scored the lone goal for the Huskies in regulation to tie the score at 1-1 in the second.
