St. Cloud State Baseball Falls in Series Finale to Minot State

Huskies fall 5-3, take two out of three in the series
MINOT, N.D. – St. Cloud State Baseball (27-17, 23-11 NSIC) dropped the series finale against Minot State (15-29, 12-22 NSIC) on Sunday at Corbett Field in Minot. The Huskies fell behind 5-2 and couldn't finish a comeback despite second the tying run to the plate in the ninth inning.
Minot State jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first inning, but then the Huskies tied it right back up in the second after an RBI triple from redshirt junior Garrett Bevacqua (Carlsbad, Calif.), who was then driven in on a groundout from senior Ben Clapp (Maple Lake, Minn.). A run in the fourth and a pair of runs in the fifth extended the Beavers lead to 5-2. Clapp singled in a run in the ninth inning to make the score 5-3 and bring the tying run to the plate, but the Huskies were never able to pull even.

St. Cloud State and Winona State will play a doubleheader, its last mid-week of the regular season, on Tuesday, April 30. First pitch in Winona is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. CT.
