St. Cloud State Volleyball Releases 2024 Schedule

Huskies travel to California and Michigan for nonconference matches, host 10 contests at Halenbeck Hall
ST. CLOUD, Minn. – St. Cloud State Volleyball has announced its 2024 schedule. The Huskies' 27-match regular season slate features nonconference trips to the Yotes Classic Showdown in San Bernardino, Calif and the Up North Tournament in Houghton, Mich. Opening its season on Sept. 5 in San Bernardino, SCSU will play eight nonconference matches before beginning Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) play on Sept. 19 at home.
The Huskies open their 2024 campaign with a trip to San Bernardino, Calif. for the Yotes Classic Showdown hosted by Cal State San Bernardino from Sept. 5-7. SCSU will meet Cal Poly Pomona, Chaminade (Hawaii), the host Coyotes and Cal State LA over the course of the four-match tournament, facing CSUSB for the first time since 1996 and CPP, Chaminade and Cal State LA for the first time in program history. All four teams, including the SCSU, ended the 2023 season ranked in the top 25.
St. Cloud State travels to Houghton, Mich. the following weekend for the Up North Tournament (Sept. 12-14) hosted by Michigan Tech for matches against Lander (S.C.), Northern Michigan, Findlay (Ohio) and the host Huskies. SCSU has never matched up with Lander and Findlay and will play Michigan Tech for the 22nd time and Northern Michigan for the 28th time. The Huskies played both NMU and MTU in 2023, beating both teams in the Up North Preseason Tournament in Duluth.
Conference play begins on Sept. 19 when Minnesota State comes to St. Cloud for the Huskies 2024 home opener. Later that week, on Sept. 21, SCSU makes its first conference road trip to Crookston to play Minnesota Crookston. In the middle of the NSIC schedule, the Huskies will play rival Minnesota Duluth in a nonconference matchup at Halenbeck Hall on Oct. 1. In total, the Huskies will play 10 home regular season matches (nine conference tilts). The NSIC Tournament will begin on Nov. 19 and run through Nov. 24.
Eight teams on St. Cloud State's schedule closed the 2023 season ranked in the final American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) DII national poll – Cal State LA (No. 1), Wayne State (No. 4), Concordia-St. Paul (No. 6), Cal State San Bernardino (No. 8), Southwest Minnesota State (No. 11), Chaminade (No. 13), Minnesota Duluth (No. 17), Cal Poly Pomona (No. 23) while the Huskies finished ranked No. 9.
