LEXINGTON, Ky. – St. Cloud State Volleyball has been named a recipient of the 2024 American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Team Academic Award sponsored by INTENT, as announced by the organization on Wednesday.
The award, initiated in the 1992-93 academic year, honors volleyball teams that maintain a year-long GPA of 3.3 or higher on a 4.0 scale.
A record number of volleyball programs earned the AVCA Team Academic Award sponsored by INTENT after more than 1,400 collegiate and high school volleyball programs maintained a year-long grade-point average of 3.3 on a 4.0 scale (or 4.1 on a 5.0 scale), to earn the award for their classroom excellence during the recently completed academic year.
The Huskies tallied a 3.40 GPA for the 2023-24 academic year, including a 3.39 in the fall semester and a 3.40 in the spring semester to earn the award for the ninth year in a row under head coach Chad Braegelmann.
