Tweet and Konkol homer in second game, Lyke records first career win
SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – For the second day in a row, St. Cloud State Baseball (3-4, 2-2 NSIC) split a doubleheader with No. 5 Augustana (5-3, 2-2 NSIC), dropping the first game of the day, 9-4, before coming back and winning 8-5 in the second game on Tuesday in Sioux Falls. In the victory, the Huskies out-hit the Vikings 13-5 with home runs from junior Wyatt Tweet (Russell, Manitoba) and redshirt sophomore Hayden Konkol (Denmark, Wis.), while redshirt freshman Camden Lyke (Lakeville, Minn.) was solid on the mound in his second start of the season.
GAME 1 – AUGIE 9, SCSU 4
SCSU jumped out to a 1-0 lead on a senior Blaine Guthrie (Emerald, Wis.) single in the top of the first inning, but Augustana immediately responded with four runs in the bottom of the first inning to take a 4-1 lead. Three scoreless innings followed before Guthrie knocked home his second run of the game with a single in the fifth to cut the lead to two runs. The Vikings came right back, however, scoring three runs in the bottom half of the inning and two more in the sixth to extend their lead to 9-2.
In the seventh inning, redshirt freshman Grayson Fuchs (Paynesville, Minn.) hit his first career home run, a two-run home run to make the score 9-4.

In the second game, Bello scored the game's first run when he scored on a wild pitch in the first inning. Augustana tied things up in the third, but then SCSU scored five consecutive runs with three runs in the fourth and two runs in the fifth. Tweet kicked things off with a two-run home run to right-center, and Konkol continued the rally with a double to score redshirt junior Brayden Jacobson (West Fargo, N.D.). In the fifth, junior Ethan Krueger's (Wauwatosa, Wis.) double scored redshirt junior Liam Moreno (Sun Prairie, Wis.) and then he came around to score when sophomore Wilmis Castro (San Juan, Puerto Rico) grounded into a fielder's choice.
SCSU added insurance runs in the eighth and ninth innings with a home run from Konkol and RBi single from Ethan Navratil, respectively, and held on for the win after giving up three runs in the ninth inning.
Lyke was solid on the mound for the Huskies, allowing only two runs on two hits and two walks over 5.1 innings to earn the win. Freshman AJ Price (Neenah, Wis). pitched well out of the bullpen as well, allowing just one hit over 2.2 innings.

SCSU will next travel to Phoenix, Ariz., to face Adams State for a four-game slate between Feb. 28-March 2.

- SCSU's eight runs set a new season-high, while their 13 hits matched a season-high.
- Tweet and Konkol each launched their first career home runs in the game.
- Moreno had the first four-hit game of the season for the Huskies.
- Lyke recorded his first collegiate win on the mound and lowered his season ERA from 13.50 to 6.14 with his outing.
- Price logged his first scoreless outing of the season, pitching 2.2 innings while striking out two and lowering his season ERA to 2.08.
