
Huskies Hit Five Home Runs in Senior Day Victory over Minot State

Huskies hit most home runs in two years, beat Beavers 12-4
Following the game, the Huskies honored its six seniors for Senior Day: senior Blaine Guthrie (Emerald, Wis.), redshirt junior Brayden Jacobson (West Fargo, N.D.), junior Christian Lessman (Spicer, Minn.), senior Ethan Navratil (Albany, Minn.), junior Brody Richardson (Gillette, Wyo.) and redshirt senior Frankie Volkers (Maple Grove, Minn.).
Minot State scored the first three runs of the game with a run in the first and two in the second inning, but the Huskies offense then went to work starting in the bottom of the second inning. SCSU scored in every inning from the second to the sixth inning to open its lead to 12-4. The long ball was the key to the Huskies offense, with Navratil, junior Wyatt Tweet (Russell, Manitoba), Guthrie, Jacobson and sophomore Wilmis Castro (Port St. Lucie, Fla.) all leaving the yard.
On the mound, Kolacia calmed down after giving up runs in the first and second inning and worked through seven innings, his longest outing of the season to earn his fourth victory.

- SCSU hit a season-high five home runs as a team, its most home runs in a game since hitting five against Arkansas-Monticello on Feb. 11, 2023.
- SCSU's 48 home runs hit this season rank third in the NSIC and now rank as the ninth-most home runs hit in program history.
- Navratil hit his ninth home run of the season and 28th of his career to move alone to fifth-place on SCSU's all-time home run list, surpassing Reese Gregory (27, 2013-16). His home run was his 50th RBI of the season and brought him to 155 on his career, moving to a tie for fourth on SCSU's all-time RBI list with Zach Hoffmann (2013-16) and Mat Meyer (2016-19).
- Castro launched his eighth home run of the season, had a team-high three RBI in the game and now has 35 RBI on the season, a mark which ranks second on the team.
- Jacobson hit his second home run of the season and matched a season-high with three RBI.
- Guthrie and Tweet each hit their third home runs of the season.
- Redshirt junior Liam Moreno (Sun Prairie, Wis.) had two doubles in the game to bring his season total to 15, a mark which ranks third in the NSIC.
- Kolacia notched his fourth victory of the season with his longest outing of the season.
SCSU will close the home portion of its schedule on Tuesday when the Huskies host Winona State on Tuesday, April 29. The two teams will play a doubleheader beginning at 1:30 p.m. CT at Joe Faber Field.
