
St. Cloud State Baseball Drops Season Opener to Missouri Western

Huskies fall 8-1, will continue series at 6:00 p.m. CT on Saturday in St. Joseph
ST. JOSEPH, Mo. – St. Cloud State Baseball (0-1, 0-0 NSIC) dropped its season opener to Missouri Western (4-4, 0-0 MIAA), 8-1, on Friday in St. Joseph, Mo. The Huskies was within two runs or tied for the first seven innings of the game before surrendering five runs in the eighth inning.
SCSU tied the game at 1-1 in the top of the third inning when junior Wilmis Castro (Port St. Lucie, Fla.) tripled home a run, scoring senior Wyatt Tweet (Russell, Manitoba) for the Huskies first run of the season. Missouri Western scored runs in the third and fifth before scoring five in the eighth to break open the game.
