Frankie Bakalars enters his first season as the assistant coach of St. Cloud State Track & Field and Cross Country in 2024-25.
Bakalars spent the last two seasons as a graduate assistant track & field coach at the University of Dubuque (Iowa) working primarily with the throwers, high jumpers, and combined event athletes.
At Dubuque, Bakalars contributed to the coaching and development of four NCAA First-Team All-Americans, five NCAA Second-Team All-Americans, five American Rivers Conference champions, 19 All-Conference performers, and 24 Top-10 performances in UD history.
As an athlete, Bakalars competed at Saint Mary's University of Minnesota where he was a three-time All-Conference athlete in the hammer throw and weight throw. He is currently third in school history in both the hammer throw and weight throw.
A native of La Crosse, Wisconsin, Bakalars graduated from La Crosse Logan High School in 2018 where he participated in track & field, football, and basketball.
Bakalars holds his Master's Degree from the University of Dubuque in Sport Management and his Bachelor's Degree from Saint Mary's University of Minnesota in Digital Media & Journalism.
