Jake Schley joined the St. Cloud State football staff as the volunteer running backs coach in 2019. He enters his first season as a graduate assistant.
Schley put together an impressive career as an interior defensive lineman for St. Cloud State, as he was one of the team's top defensive players throughout his four-year career. In his final season with the Huskies in 2018, Schley earned First Team All-NSIC honors and helped St. Cloud State finish the season as the No. 32 ranked defense in the nation. Schley was third on the team in total tackles (61) that season, with 38 solo and 23 assists credited to him during the year. Additionally, he was second on the team in both sacks (4) and tackles for loss (11) in 2018 and led the team in total yards lost by an opponent (52). With Schley's help, the Huskies defense was the No. 18 rush defense in the country, as they gave up just 103.7 rush yards per game.
