2019: As a sophomore, Howell appeared in nine games and made one start as a running back and wide receiver. A duel threat in St. Cloud State's offense, Howell wracked up 211 yards of total offense, averaging 23.4 yards per game on 44 carries. He had a breakout game against SMSU in which he rushed for a career-high 65 yards and recorded 14 receiving yards on two carries.
2018: In his first season with the Huskies, Howell appeared in four games as a running back and wide receiver. He made the first start of his career against Bemidji State on October 27 and rushed for a career high 15 yards with one touchdown in the game. Howell finished the season with 25 rush yards and one rushing touchdown.
2017: Red shirted to preserve a season of eligibility
