2019: As a senior, Kurt earned All-Conference Honorable Mention honors after helping the Huskies finish the season as one of the top defenses in the nation. The team's starting nose guard for most of 2019, Kurt finished the season with 10 total tackles (7 solo, three assist), with 2.5 tackles of loss and .5 sacks. Kurt's final season was cut short due to injury.
2018: In his third season with the Huskies, Kurt earned second team All-NSIC honors as a member of the No. 18 rush defense in the nation. As the team's starting nose guard, Kurt finished the season with 17 tackles, four tackles for loss, one quarterback hurry and two forced fumbles. He was also a member of one of the best defenses in St. Cloud State history. During the season, the Huskies ranked third in the NSIC in total defense, as they surrendered just 2228 passing yards and 1180 rush yards to opponents this season.
2017: As a sophomore, Kurt appeared in all 11 games for the Huskies. He tallied 19 total tackles with 10 solo and nine assists, along with 3.5 tackles for loss.
Prior to SCSU: Son of Keith and Karen Kurt…majoring in biomedical sciences…the person that has had the greatest influence on his life is his father…lists Reggie White as his favorite athlete.
Personal: A three-time All-Conference selection...twice named conference Defensive Linemen of the Year...a two-time All-Area, All-Region and Honorable Mention All-State selection...was All-Conference as a heavyweight wrestler twice...also named the conference’s wrestler of the year, finished fourth in the state tournament after winning both the regional and sectional…recorded 15 tackles for loss, 5.5 sacks, five forced fumbles and two defensive touchdowns in his career...played football at Lodi High School for Dave Puls…also competed in track and was a Second Team All-Conference selection.
