Tarynn Theilig Johnson will begin her first season as an assistant coach with the St. Cloud State soccer team in 2018.
Theilig Johnson was a four- year leader and captain goalkeeper for the University of St. Thomas from 2013 to 2016. A two-time MIAC Defensive Player of the Year selection in the net, Theilig Johnson received All-MIAC notice three times during her college career and earned All-America status as a senior. In 2016, Theilig Johnson posted an impressive 17-3-1 record with 13 shutouts and a 0.28 GAA at St. Thomas.
She was a member of the Student Athlete Advisory Committee and served as a staff coach for Minnesota ODP and CMYSA. She has coached and volunteered with the Sartell High School summer program, Albany Area Rec program, and brings a wealth of experience working with club teams.
She is a graduate from St. Francis Xavier High School in Appleton, Wisc. where she was a four-year starter, four-year state participant and team captain.
Coach Johnson received a bachelor’s degree in Neuroscience and will pursue her Masters in Gerontology at SCSU. Her and her husband Brady reside in Sauk Rapids, MN.
