Mattea Peplinski enters her fourth season as an assistant coach with St. Cloud State Women’s Basketball in 2025-26. Serving in a variety of roles in all areas of the program including player development, operations, strategic planning and recruiting, Peplinski has quickly established herself in the industry as a rising coach.
In just three seasons on a collegiate bench, Peplinski has recruited and coached one All-American, one All-Region selection, nine All-Conference honorees and two Conference All-Defensive Team members.
Peplinski’s first season with St. Cloud State saw her help guide a young roster with just one returning starter to a 17-10 campaign with a 14-8 record in NSIC action. Boasting the No. 2 scoring defense in the NSIC (58.3) and an 88.4 defensive rating, the Huskies were led by First Team All-NSIC forward Katrina Theis’ 16.3 points, 7.7 rebounds and 2.4 assists a night. True freshman Jada Eggebrecht became the program’s first freshman to earn All-NSIC honors with a Second Team nod, scoring 14.3 points per game while shooting 45% from the floor, 40% from three and 89% from the line.
Before joining St. Cloud State, Peplinski spent two seasons with the WI Playmakers U15 and U17 AAU teams in addition to one season on the bench at NCAA DIII UW-Oshkosh.
Following her playing career Peplinski began her collegiate coaching career as a student assistant with UW-Oshkosh in 2021-22. The Titans made an NCAA Elite Eight appearance while going 22-7 with a 7-4 record in the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) as Leah Porath was named an All-American and was joined on the All-WIAC team by Nikki Arneson and Abby Kaiser. Oshkosh led the WIAC in scoring defense at just 51.3 points allowed per game and held opponents to a league-best 27.9% from beyond the arc. Peplinski was invited to the Women’s Basketball Coaches Association “So You Want To Be A Coach” program following the season.
Peplinski played three seasons at UW-Oshkosh from 2018-19 to 2020-21 and helped the Titans win three straight WIAC Tournament Championships while adding a Regular Season Title in 2020-21 and appearing in two NCAA Sweet 16’s. UW-Oshkosh went 55-16 over her three seasons on the court and earned NCAA Tournament berths all three years.
A native of Eau Claire, Wisconsin, Peplinski was a 2018 graduate of Eau Claire North High School. The three-sport standout was a four-year letterwinner in basketball while adding three each in volleyball and track & field.
Peplinski earned her undergraduate degree in Rehabilitation Science from UW-Oshkosh in 2021 and is currently pursuing her master’s degree in Clinical Exercise Physiology at St. Cloud State.
