Brooklyn Broadwell and Lara-Maria Schaefer Earn CSC Academic All-District for Huskies

Broadwell and Schaefer recognized by CSC for academic and athletic performance
St. Cloud, MN. – Two St. Cloud State Tennis student-athletes have been named to the 2026 Academic All-District® Women's Tennis Team, selected by College Sports Communicators (CSC). Juniors Brooklyn Broadwell and Lara-Maria Schaefer were honored for their success in the classroom and on the court for the second straight season.
The 2026 Academic All-District® Men's and Women's Tennis Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.
Academic All-District® honorees advance to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot. First-, second and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced June 2 (women) and June 3 (men). To qualify for Academic All-District® Honors, a student athlete must carry a 3.50 or better grade point average and have competed in at least 70% of the team's total matches.
Broadwell carried a 4.0 GPA as an accounting major. She played in every match for the Huskies and compiled an overall record of 16-14. Broadwell produced a team-high in singles wins with 12. This was the second straight season that the Thief River Falls, MN native earned CSC Academic All-District Honors.
Schaefer also tallied her second straight season with CSC Academic All-District Honors as she held a 3.72 GPA as a management major. She also played in every match for the Huskies and totaled an 18-12 overall record, which was a team-high in wins. Schaefer was named Second Team All-NSIC Singles after going 10-5 in singles play.
